A lesson in mounting
geometry is now available in pdf format.
- On 412 low voltage operators, use only the black and white wires
when wiring the motor to the control panel.
- On 412 low voltage operators, be sure to completely finish the
424 program and turn the program switch off.
- The 412 high voltage operator will thermal at 284 degrees.
Please do not over-spec the operator.
- The 624MPS, version 2.03 released around May of this year, has
the new open/hold open capability.
- A reminder on the 450MPS, v.1.66: The new "A" mode, which
is the open/hold open feature, is activated when dip switches
1 and 3 are on.
- When programming the 885, the lower case "t" really is a "t"
although it is mistaken for everything but. A digital "t"
does have the black cross section missing, but it is a "t" nonetheless.
- Fuses. Please follow the fuse rating when replacing fuses
on all FAAC control panels. When a larger fuse is used,
you run the possibility of frying the board beyond repair.
- When returning an operator to us for repair,
please REMOVE THE OIL and
please SEND THE OPERATOR ONLY.
- Removing the oil helps two ways: first,
it will reduce the weight of the operator which will reduce
your shipping costs, and second, if the operator leaks, UPS
will repackage it and that means we will lose the RGR # that
you had written on the outside of the package, thus possibly
increasing the turnaround time for your repairs.
- Send us just the operator. Please
do not send the operator mounting hardware, protective cover,
etc. since it becomes a logistical nightmare for us to keep
track of these small items.
- To save yourself time and hassle, keep a spare low voltage terminal
strip for the FAAC control panels with the correct jumpers in
place (see your manual). When you’re trouble-shooting, you
can install this terminal to test the board in question without
rewiring everything.
- Make sure to run your low voltage Model 412 through the entire
programming part of the installation (i.e. the 412 starts in the
closed position and ends in the closed position).
- Remember to set the hydraulic pressures on your operator. The
pressures are not set at the factory. Refer to the Installation
Manual for instructions.
- Don’t forget to set the potentiometers on your control
panel, including putting the torque to the maximum setting
for hydraulic operators.
- The batteries on the Model 412 low voltage control panel must
be hooked up before programming begins.
- Remember to pull out the vent screw on all hydraulic operators.
Also, be prepared for the oil run-off when you are bleeding
the operator.
- For a detailed LED status, read the manuals and familiarize
yourself with the LED charts. They make trouble-shooting much
easier.
