Big
Power in Small Packages
- FAAC linear swing gate operators use hydraulic cylinders to
move the gates. There are no pulleys, belts or chains to slip,
wear out or replace. Just like in heavy construction equipment
(i.e. bulldozers), hydraulic arms are the most reliable and efficient
method to provide repeated motion to move heavy objects.
- FAAC linear operators are small, low profile and almost invisible
if painted to match the gate. Thus, the operator doesn't detract
from the aesthetics of a gated entrance.
Articulating operators are quite large, cost more to install and
require a concrete pad for each operator.
- FAAC linear operators are installed on the inside of
the property. But the gate can still swing in or out and the operator
is protected from tampering or vandalism.
Articulated operators must be located on the outside of
the property if the gates swing outward, making them dangerous,
unattractive and subject to vandalism.
- FAAC linear operators can attach to the bottom rail of a gate.
Articulated operators have arms that must connect higher on the
gate, causing the installation an unsightly bracket between the
pickets of the gate.
- FAAC linear operators are UL 325 compliant and quite safe, with
the addition of non-contact photobeams
Articulating operators are dangerous due to the exposed "pinch
points" at the arm hinge.
In summary, FAAC's hydraulic operators utilize modern technology
assuring years of trouble-free, smooth and quiet operation for even
the largest gated communities. For example, FAAC Model 400 heavy
duty operators have been installed for over 12 years at gated communities
of 1,500+ homes, with minimal maintenance. These operators have
met rigorous UL-325 safety standard testing, thus reducing a community's
liability. |
